This intimate mountain home was designed around family and functionality. Decidedly different from the classic chalets that surround it, Fireside blends effortlessly into the woods despite its anti-log cabin attitude. Relaxed and sophisticated, this Sugar Bowl retreat is like a snowflake – one of a kind!
For Maca Huneeus; SF based tastemaker, owner and passionate skier, her design sensibility can be seen in the seamless blending of function, feel and familiar. “I wanted pieces that would be timeless: classic, modern and warm.” To complete the simple but essential selection of furniture and fixtures, she buckles in her decor with textures and natural fabrics: wool, linen, cotton and, of course, lots of cashmere. Somehow the modern home has a heritage feel – very cozy and inviting, with a big emphasis on craftsmanship. Akin to that perfect pair of ski boots, once you get the fit right – don’t change a thing!
Hard to get to but worth the effort… snowcats and gondolas will deliver your merchandise, props, crew and talent to set and hot chocolate too! Once you’re loaded, lit and rolling, there is nothing but the sounds of aspens whispering to spoil your room-tone. Shovel snow, hell no! The foundation and roof were designed and built to ensure easy access despite the conditions. Fireside will warm up any production!
