How does Mint work?
We vet all inquires, coordinate site visits, negotiate day rates and liaison between you and the homeowner. Mint also signs contracts, locations releases, etc.
Is there a fee to search your locations?
Free File Pulls — At Mint, we are confident that you will find the perfect location for your next production. Search our location files by region, style and/or tags. Our database is current and viewable online on your time, at no cost to you. Need ideas? We're happy to do a location pull for you.
How does booking work?
Simple, Upfront Booking — When you're ready to book a location, a contract and invoice are generated. A booking fee is added to the negotiated day rate per location, plus any additional charges (e.g. site representatives, cleaning charges). Full payment terms are outlined under Payment Methods below.
How are rates determined?
Rates are negotiated based on the scope of the shoot, size of crew, duration, and other variables. One 90-minute tech scout is included in the negotiated rate; additional pre-production site visits are subject to an upcharge. Additional fees can include site representatives and cleaning charges. Contact Mint for a custom quote based on your shoot's specifications.
What if I need materials to pitch a location to my client?
We Want to Make It Easy for You — Once you've selected potential locations from our website, download a PDF of each location for client review. We can also provide Dropbox links of all photos and videos per location. Let us know what you need to impress your client — we love making our producers look good. It makes us feel good too.
Can I see a location in person before booking?
Need to See the Locations IRL? — When you're ready to scout locations, we may require a retainer to clear your locations and set up your itinerary (the amount depends on whether you're scouting 1–3 locations or 3+). If you're out of town and need a field scout, we're happy to connect you with local field scouts familiar with your target area.
What if I don't see the right location on your site?
Can't Find It? — We aspire to keep our location library current. If you don't see the perfect place, contact a Mint representative — we're happy to do a custom pull.
What insurance is required?
Upon booking, renter agrees to provide Mint Locations with a liability insurance policy naming Mint Locations as an additional insured, in addition to the property owner. Throughout the entirety of the shoot, Production must hold a $1,000,000.00 liability insurance policy. Agent must receive the COI documents at least 72 hours in advance of the shoot or the shoot may be canceled.
What is your cancellation and weather policy?
Booked shoots canceled within 7 days are payable by Production at 100% of the contracted location rate. Agent shall not be liable for payment when Agent cancels the shoot due to Production’s failure to provide prior payment, proof of insurance, or signed contract. Deposits made to reserve locations are non-refundable. Exceptions and adjustments to our standard cancellation policy may be negotiated. In the event of inclement weather, we will work with you to reschedule at no additional charge, subject to homeowner availability.
What payment methods do you accept?
Mint accepts ACH, wire, check via courier, direct deposit, and credit card (+4% processing fee). Invoices are issued prior to your shoot date, and full payment is due 7 days prior to occupancy.
