After a fire reduced their beloved family home to ashes, our savvy homeowners tasked the chic SoCal based interior designer, Amber Lewis of Amber Interiors, and Bay Area based architect Barbara Chambers of Chamber & Chambers to create a new home whose impression would last a lifetime. Feast your eyes on the curated combination of characteristics this home personifies, it’s a contemporary twist on a traditional home spiced up with global accents.

THE DETAILS

Vaulted ceilings and exposed trusses atop clean, crisp white-walls and repurposed plank floors set the stage for oversized furniture, mud cloth pillows, Turkish rugs, and earthy decor details. Floor-to-ceiling windows invite the sunshine to spill into the space and overflow with a soft honeyed highlight which accentuate Amber Interiors California cool, eclectic design. Heritage details like the Dutch door in the entryway, retro lighting design throughout the rooms, and the rolling ladder leaning on the bookshelf, feel just right peppered amongst the streamlined architecture, peaceful palette and modern metal fixtures. The exterior is as finessed as the interior, with verdant plantings, flagstone paths, and layered terraces.
